Hey, Welcome 2023!
Here I am, in 2023. Not having written since April of 2022. Yikes! But that’s all due to good reasons. One was that I was focusing on being present and having more intention in what I was doing. So I took less time on my phone/social media/photos/computer and was in the moment. Did I think, why didn’t I take a picture of that? Or why didn’t I document that? Well, I wanted to just live it and just have those mental memories. Remember growing up and not having social media? Yeah….
Anyways…
I started 2023 off by finishing 2 books. I may have started them in December 2022, but I finished them within the first week of January. So took that as a great accomplishment.
The Books I read were:
Lunar Wisdom: Reconnecting with the Divine Feminine through Rituals, Spells, Magic and the Phases of the Moon by Tracey Brown, Alyssa Fry, Amanda Norr, Jenny Alberti, Jess Johnson, Jessica Strubin-Homan, Kathryn Toomey, Lori Hernandez, Monica de Vitry, Stephanie Moyer, Telisha Webster, Sarah Tricker, and Erin Neuhardt.
This book was really cool. I enjoyed hearing about the Phases of the Moon and how each woman used it to guide them or help them through their daily lives. They each teach you a bit of how to use what they do during the phases of the moons. And you can choose to use some of those ways yourself! Shoutout to all these wonderful women for a job well-done with the book. And to my friend Erin – you are a rockstar!
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
I couldn’t put this book down. I mean, it took me a bit to get into it and understand what was happening, but once I kept reading, I wanted to keep going. I don’t want to give anything away, although I feel like I may have been one of the last to read it, please go pick up a local copy from wherever you like to get your books.
And then…Covid caught us all. One by one we went down. Fevers, head colds, cough, headaches, body aches, and fatigue. But I’m happy to report we have been on the mend for a while now. Thanks to the words of my Mimi, fluids, and rest, we made it through. It was tough, no one likes feeling sick, right? Lots of hunkering down, movies, and sleep. We are on the other side.
Now we’re just going one day at a time, taking it easy and making it through each day. The little ones have loads of energy, lots of complaints, and have been in, mostly, great spirits. So our year has been off to a semi-good start with lots to look forward to this year. And I’m guessing that I may be posting a little more than I did last year. It shall depend on my mood. So come along and join me on whatever journey this year has in store. Whether it’s an adventure, a conversation, or something!
It may be late, but … Happy 2023!
